The Lynn House
A Home for Healing
By Sarah Perez, Operations Manager
Coordinated by Robyn Stauffer
Located in Costa Mesa, The Lynn House shines as a beacon of hope for women who were once homeless and addicted to alcohol and drugs. Our non-profit organization offers a free, 30-day program and a safe, supportive environment where these women can find healing and rebuild their lives, especially at this time of year.
Imagine spending the holidays surrounded by love, support, and a sense of belonging. At The Lynn House, this is a reality for women who have experienced the hardships of homelessness and addiction. As the air fills with the season’s spirit, we help these women find solace and strength in a community that understands their journey.
We do not require insurance and rely solely on donations and grants to provide our services. Our residents actively participate in daily tasks like
meal preparation and housekeeping. This shared responsibility fosters practical skills and strengthens our community bonds.
The goal of The Lynn House is to empower every woman to embrace sobriety and build confidence by becoming responsible, contributing members of the community. By providing a nurturing space and essential resources, we help women who were once homeless and addicted break free from the chains of their past and create fulfilling lives.
We offer a 12-step approach to sobriety, run primarily by female volunteers who are likewise in recovery. With peer counseling, life skills training, and vocational assistance, we emphasize the building of a solid foundation in sobriety. Haley, a former resident, had this to say of her experience:
“The Lynn House taught me how to care again. I learned how to be responsible for myself and my actions, how to be a woman with dignity and grace, and how to be a mother. Today I am a productive member of society, a mother to my daughter, and we have our own apartment. Where there was hopelessness, The Lynn House brought hope.”
As the holidays approach, we are grateful for the community’s support. Financial contributions and volunteer hours are essential to our mission of providing a safe haven for women who were once homeless and addicted. Let’s come together to spread hope and healing during this holiday season, ensuring that every woman has a place to call home and a reason to celebrate.
